Follow Friday #9

FF 2012 Feature & Follow #91

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Rachel of Parajunkee and Alison of Alison Can Read.

This week's featured question is:

Have you had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then "broke up" with later on in either the series or a stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.

My answer:

Well, this is a very hard question! Hmmm, the only character I can think of is a character from one of my latest reads which is Temptation by Karen Ann Hopkins. I really liked one of the main characters, Noah, in the beginning but as I continue reading about him (since the book is also written from his POV), I disliked him even more. By the time I finished the book, I had mixed feelings about him. I'm looking forward to read the sequel to see if my opinion about him changes by the next book!

This week's featured question is:

Have you ever bought a book BECAUSE of a bad review?

 My answer:

Yes I have! An example would be Glow by Amy Kathleen-Ryan. I was absolutely curious of this book and have been reading mixed reviews so I bought the book to see what I think about it myself. I end up hating the book because I absolutely did not enjoy it but still felt like I had to finish the book because I bought it.

The featured question this week is:
Which book genre do you avoid at all costs and why?
My answer:
I rarely read horror themed books. It's because I'm really scared. One time I decided to read this book full of ghost stories in US and I can't even sleep because lots of them are set in bedrooms and stuffs. I don't really avoid it all costs, just when I don't have the courage to read it. I'm actually quite flexible with all genres but my favourite will always be YA!

The featured question this week is:
What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done to get your hands on any particular book?
My answer:
Well, the craziest thing I've ever done is probably running around the shopping centre trying to find Clockwork Prince. On 6th of December which was the worldwide release of Clockwork Prince, I tried to find the book in my shopping centre. I had to go to each bookstore I can find in the centre (I think it was 5 bookshops or something) and I didn't find even a single book! I had to run all over the place after school and people probably think I'm crazy! :P It was still memorable but I wish I can do something more crazy like staying overnight in front a bookshop to get a book as quickly as possible (like how Harry Potter fans waited in front of bookshops all over the world to wait for the final book in the series)!

The featured question this week is:
Many readers/bloggers are also big music fans. Tell us about a few of your favorite bands/singers that we should listen to in 2012.

I love music. I sometimes listen to them while reading books! Some of the singers and bands I love are:
1. Taylor Swift: Honestly, her songs are like a story itself. It's so meaningful and romantic!
2. One Direction: It's a boyband from UK and I love them. Plus, they have the British accent so you know ;)
3. Rihanna: Absolutely love all her songs and her voice!
4. Katy Perry: I love all her songs too! They're so good!
5. Christina Perri: So I found out that her song 'A Thousand Years' was featured in Breaking Dawn Part 1 movie's soundtracks. Her songs areso meaningful and a bit sad but romantic!
6. Coldplay: This is not a new band but I love their songs a lot. From Viva la Vida up to Princess of China, their songs are so nice to listen to!
7. Maroon 5: I want to Move like Jagger! Haha. Well, I love all their songs too! Adam Levine's voice is just wow.
