Summary from Goodreads:
Is true love worth the ultimate sacrifice?

Calla has always welcomed war. But now that the final battle is upon her, there’s more at stake than fighting. There’s saving Ren, even if it incurs Shay’s wrath. There’s keeping Ansel safe, even if he’s been branded a traitor. There’s proving herself as the pack’s alpha, facing unnamable horrors, and ridding the world of the Keepers’ magic once and for all. And then there’s deciding what to do when the war ends. If Calla makes it out alive, that is.

In the final installment of the Nightshade trilogy, New York Times bestselling author Andrea Cremer creates a novel with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat until its final pages. A dynamic end to this breathtaking trilogy.

My review:

Cover:
I absolutey adore the UK/AU covers of the series. It's simple, it's eye-catching and pretty. I love the swirls, the red colour and the moon in the cover. It reallys suits the title of the book!
5 Forget-me-not flowers for the cover!
Story:

Is true love worth the ultimate sacrifice?

The battle is finally coming to an end. Calla is having her most difficult challenges yet. She has to choose her Alpha between Ren and Shay, fighting the Keepers, proving herself worthy as an Alpha and keeping her pack and family safe. This is Calla's ultimate battle.

Bloodrose is a perfect ending to an AMAZING series. I absolutely love the first two books in the trilogy, Nightshade and Wolfsbane and the ending was just perfect in ways I never thought of. I was very scared to start this book because I found out a major spoiler before reading it and it totally break my heart. But no matter what, I still love this book so much and I completely understand why Andrea Cremer chose to end the series this way.

Everything is finally coming to an end. The book is still written from Calla's perspective as she deals with this final war between the Keepers and the Searchers. Calla is not only fighting against the Keepers, but she is also fighting against her own heart. Both Ren and Shay are two Alphas and she can only pick one. Calla's conflicted heart and confusion to choose between those two makes me conflicted as well. I was absolutely Team Ren in the first two books but reading about Shay in Bloodrose makes me love Shay more than I thought I would. The book was filled with actions, romantic scenes between Calla and Shay, Calla and Ren and even when the war is over, it's not yet over.

I absolutely did not expect the ending of the book to be that way but it was still a perfect way to end the series. I loved the Epilogue and even though I'm sad to say goodbye to the Nightshade series, Bloodrose reminded me of how much I loved this series and how beautifully written this series was. Now that I know Andrea is writing a new series, a prequel to the world of Nightshade, I take my goodbye back!

Characters:
Oh Andrea, if there is one thing I love the most about your books besides the story itself are the characters. I loved how Calla has proved herself worthy of the title 'Alpha' throughout the story and how she dealt with her challenges, her love life and how she made the decision in the ending of the book. She is such an awesome heroine I'll adore forever. Then there are Ren and Shay. My goodness you guys, why do you make it so hard to choose between you? But even though I came to love Shay a bit more in this book, I guess I'll always be Team Ren. I've loved him throughout the first two books and the third book made me love him even more. Connor and Adne! Oh you both are the cutest couple ever! Ethan and Sabine! You both are unexpectedly so heart-warming and romantic! I adore all of the characters in this book. There is not a single character I hate and this is what makes the Nightshade trilogy so memorable because not only is the story amazing, the characters are so well-written and AMAZING too!

Overall:
Andrea Cremer brings you an EPIC end to the AMAZING Nightshade series. Bloodrose evoked different emotions inside of me and my confliction between the two amazing Ren and Shay but no matter what happened in this book, I still loved it. Bloodrose will take your breath away once more. It reminded me of how much I loved the series. Rift, the first book in the Nightshade prequel is coming out this year so THIS IS NOT A GOODBYE!
5 Forget-me-not flowers for Bloodrose!
Thank you to Atom (Hachette Australia) for the review copy!

  3. I SO felt the conflict between Ren and Shay... I mean, I'm more vocally Ren online, but Shay has a way of working himself into my heart. I ADORE both boys. But I did feel like Calla was better suited with Shay. I guess that means we should have whisked Ren out halfway through for ourselves? :D

Ahhhh amazing review, Celine! I thought this was a stunning finale to the series aswell. I can't wait to learn Ember's story in Rift. I mean, the cover alone looks BADASS!

  5. Ohhh, Celine, what an absolutely PERFECT review! <3 I was scared to start reading this book because I accidentally stumbled upon a spoiled of it too and it broke my heart, but I read it and loved it anyways! Andrea Cremer DOES have a way of making her characters amazing -- they were my favourite part too! (LOVED the side pairings!!) And I'm definitely Team Ren, but even I have to admit that Shay and Calla did go well together. x)

Amazing review, Celine! At least we have The Rift coming up soon to satisfy our Guardian cravings! ;) <3

  7. I've heard really iffy things about this conclusion. I'm glad you're one of the readers who loved it, Celine! I read Nightshade a couple of months ago, and it didn't really wow me. I guess it's not my type of read. But I'm so happy to hear that you love the series! I love strong heroines, so it's great to hear that Calla is very strong in this final installment. And the love triangle in this one sounds heart breaking! Fabulous review, Celine! :)

  8. I have the second book sitting here, but I'm going to try it very soon simply because I did like a few of the characters when I read Nightshade and your review reminded me of that. Tell me whether or not she chose Ren in the end. TWEET ME. Please, I have to know. If not, I'm not sure I can read this!
