Preacher's daughter Ashton Gray is gorgeous, good and kind, and she's dating Sawyer Vincent - handsome school quarterback and all-round gentleman. Sawyer's perfect, and Ashton knows it. But when Sawyer leaves town for the summer, Ashton gets to spending time with his cousin Beau. Unlike Sawyer, Beau is a bona fide bad-boy - drinking, sleeping around and generally going the way of his white-trash parents. Ashton knows it's wrong, but something about Beau has her all hot and bothered. He's bringing out the bad girl in this sweet Southern Belle. Sultry, romantic, hotter than the Alabama sun - what will the Vincent Boys do for you?
Cover:
LOVE! I might be a bit biased on this but the Aussie cover is definitely my favourite! The two boys, the girl are all so AMAZING! They look just like how I imagined Ashton, Sawyer and Beau!

Story:

Two Vincent Boys...which one will you choose?

I originally read The Vincent Boys when it was self-published. It was quite recent though so by the time I finished reading, I found out that the book was picked up by a publisher. I was beyond happy! Now that I got an actual hard-copy of the book, I decided it was a time for re-read and guess what? The Vincent Boys is even better the second time!

This book made me fell in love with the contemporary genre all over again. Since summer is here in Australia, this book is definitely a perfect summer read. The story is written from dual POVs, Beau and Ashton. Beau and Ashton were childhood friends but became distant when Ashton dates Sawyer. So when Sawyer leaves town, Ashton rekindles her friendship with Beau but turns out, it's more than just friendship...

Oh dear, where do I start? I simply loved it. The story is simple, not too much drama and that's probably why it's so easy to connect with the story. I love Abbi's writing. She captures the feeling of 'hot summer' so well and the romance too of course! The romance was sweet and hot!

Characters:
While I'm itching to get to the Vincent Boys, might as well start with Ashton first! I really liked Ashton and understood what she felt throughout the book. While Ashton is dating Sawyer, she has to hold back her 'bad girl' side. She wants to be good for Sawyer and that is tiring. But Beau is an entire different story. He's the 'bad boy' but he's slowly slipping his way into Ashton's heart. Even though technically, Ashton is cheating on Sawyer by spending her time with Beau, I can't help but root for her and Beau. Even though Beau's famous for his 'badness', he truly cares for Ashton. We can clearly see this from the chapters written from his POV. Sawyer might be the 'good guy' but he strikes a bit dull to me. Lana, the main character in the sequel, The Vincent Brothers make an appearance here and I like how she supports Ashton and Beau!

Overall:
Looking for a summer read? Here's one for you! From the amazing story, Abbi's great writing and the sizzling characters, I simply loved this book and I am so happy the book was picked up by the publishers! The Vincent Boys is a hot and romantic book fans of contemporary will love! The only problem is, which Vincent Boy will you choose?
5 Forget-Me-Not flowers for The Vincent Boys!
Thank you Five Mile Press for the review copy!

  1. I think I read this before it was picked up by a publisher, and I somewhat enjoyed it, though it wasn't completely my sort of thing. I doubt I'll pick up the sequel now, but I'm glad to see you were a fan! I really like the Aussie cover, though the UK cover still remains my favourite. ;)

    Brilliant review, lovely!

  2. Wonderful review, Celine! I'm so glad you enjoyed this one! Unfortunately, it wasn't for me and I haven't been a fan of any of Glines' novels, but I have to agree, this cover is my favorite too! ;)

  6. So glad to hear you loved this and even more the second time round! I've had my eye on The Vincent Boys for what seems like a long time but since I don't read ebooks and that was the onlly format it was available in, I gave up on trying to read it - until now! I have a feeling I'll be getting a copy for Christmas so shouldn't be long now until I have a copy in my hands and I can finally see what all the fuss is about. Great review, Celine!

  7. Such a lovely review, Celine! <3 I keep hearing amazing things about this book and I'm very excited that you really enjoyed it! Beau seems like typical bad boy that would make me swoon! <3 I really like the Australian cover, the model for Ashton is gorgeous! The two boys beside her are very... distracting as well. ;) Glad that you enjoyed the story very much! <3

  8. Ohh, I adore the Aussie cover, Celine! My co-blogger Lisa didn't much care for this one so I'd pretty much decided I wouldn't like it either, but now you've made me reconsider. I'm not realy a contemporary fan, but since this made you fall back in love with contemporary, hopefully it might do the same for me.
    Amazing review, dear.

  9. I've heard great things about this one and a copy just arrived for me today! After reading your review I think I might save it for summer as it sounds like such a great summer read (even though we don't really get hot summers in Ireland!)

  10. This cover is definitely the best edition. I actually quite hate the other cover :p I'm incredibly jealous that it's summer in Australia. It's so cold over here. I think that this book isn't really my thing, but I'm very happy that it was even better than the first time!
