Summary from Goodreads:
STOP THE COUNTDOWN. SAVE THE WORLD…

Leaving the beach, seventeen-year-old Janelle Tenner is hit head on by a pickup truck.

And killed.

Then Ben Michaels, resident stoner, is leaning over her. And even though it isn’t possible, she knows Ben somehow brought her back to life…

Meanwhile, Janelle’s father, a special agent for the FBI, starts working on a case that seems strangely connected to Ben. Digging in his files, Janelle finds a mysterious device – one that seems to be counting down to something that will happen in 23 days and 10 hours time.

That something? It might just be the end of the world. And if Janelle wants to stop it, she’s going to need to uncover Ben’s secrets – and keep from falling in love with him in the process…
Cover:
I prefer the US cover over the UK cover but the UK cover looks pretty cool! I love how the girl’s face disintegrates and how there’s that clock with the countdown!

Story:

It’s a countdown to save the world…

Unravelling was truly addictive. I started this book at night and was hoping to continue it the next day but I just couldn’t stop reading. I had to finish the book that day and I did, even though that meant I had to sleep late!

The concept of Unravelling was very unique! I loved how the chapters were titled with a countdown to 0:0:0 and how unpredictable this book was. When I thought I knew what was happening in the book, Unravelling often surprised me when the characters revealed something new and unexpected. Norris’s writing was absolutely hooking and the ending made me desperate for the next book!

Characters:
Janelle Tanner is officially the newest YA heroine I adore! She completely rocks and I want to be like her. She knows how to carry a gun, mainly because her dad is an FBI, she never puts herself first in everything and she has an AMAZING love interest and that is Ben Michaels! Ben is not who I expect. He looks like a bad guy but deep inside, he’s a kind-hearted, genius guy who has his own pains and sadness. His chemistry with Janelle is so wonderful! I am immersed in their story and how they come to love each other. I also really enjoyed reading the other side characters such as Alex, Janelle’s BFF!, Jared, Janelle’s brothers, Janelle’s father and his colleagues in the FBI!

Overall:
Unravelling is a spectacular 2012 debut novel! Can Janelle save the world before the countdown ends? With a unique concept and amazing characters, Unravelling will hook you to the very last page. Extremely can’t wait for the sequel!
5 Forget-Me-Not flowers for Unravelling!
