Summary from Goodreads:
Laurel now knows the truth: Yuki is a rare Winter faerie, the most powerful—and deadly—of all, and Klea plans to use her to help conquer and destroy Avalon. But Klea's reach extends far beyond one wild Winter faerie. With Tamani, David, and Chelsea by her side, Laurel prepares to face what may be Avalon's final days, in the stunning conclusion to the Wings series.
Cover:
Absolutely gorgeous. The cover looks so simple but stunning. I love the blue flower and pretty much all the cover in the series too!
Story:
The final battle to save Avalon....
Destined is the final book in the Wings series. I remember reading Wings and Spells last year. The concept of fairies in the series were unique. They sprout wings, their bodies are like plants and they are connected to the nature. The series kept on getting better and better. I read Illusions this year and it was simply mesmerizing. I had to find out what was going to happen with Laurel, Avalon and of course, her love interests.
Everything is finally coming to an end. Laurel must face a last battle to save Avalon with her friends. The story is very fast-paced. From the very first page, I was transported back into the world of Wings and was taken on an exciting journey, leading to a final battle. Along the way, Laurel finally made a choice between Tamani and David. The ending wrapped up the whole series beautifully. It's bittersweet and makes me unprepared to part with the series.
Characters:
Laurel has definitely grown from the first book until the last book in the series. Laurel began as a character who was trying to adapt to the fact that she's an Autumn fairy and a Mixer as well. She accepts her 'destiny' and tries to help Avalon in every ways she can. I love how she was able to make a variety of potions to help the fairies and her friends.
Tamani! I've always been Team Tamani since the beginning. There is something about him that makes me unable to dislike him at all. He's always been there for Laurel, has always loved her and is willing to do anything for her. David is similar to Tamani in a way that he is willing to do anything for Laurel as well but since I first met him in Wings, I just never quite liked David.
Other characters such as Chelsea, Yuki, Klea, Jamison was a great addition to the series. We find out more about the motives of Yuki and Klea in this book and some secrets within the Avalon. The characters were all very enjoyable to read about!
Overall:
Destined is a breath-taking, mesmerizing conclusion to the Wings series. In Destined, Lauren must face a final battle along with Tamani, David and Chelsea to save Avalon. Bittersweet, gorgeous and beautifully written, Destined will once again transport you back into the world of Wings.
4 Forget-Me-Not flowers for Destined! |

Ohh, I remember reading Wings last year too! It was such a sweet and original book, but it lacked that oopmf for me that made me want to read the sequel and I've forgotten about it ever since. But I'm so happy that you loved this book! Your reviews is making me want to go back and read the rest of the books because it really IS something originally awesome. And TEAM TAMANI FOREVER! ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful review, Celine! I love how you're a teenager like me and you STILL manage to write so beautifully! x) <3
Wings didn't blow me away so I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue with the series. Your review has me changing my mind though! I love that you think Destined is a great conclusion to the series. I'm also glad that you mentioned Laurel shows some growth. Awesome review, Celine! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat review, Celine! I never did manage to get into this series but I'm so happy you enjoyed how it wrapped up! :D
ReplyDeleteGorgeous review, Celine! I've had this series on my tbr since... well, since the beginning of time, I guess, but I have yet to find the time for it. I have to plan in advance because I know that once I start, I'll have to read all the books one after another.
ReplyDeleteThe cover is truly stunning too!
Aaaah, I haven't read this series yet! But they're on my wishlist, and I think they've even been published here. Maybe I'll give it a try this summer, given that you enjoyed this last book that much :) I'm interested!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful review! After disliking Spells, I decided to stop this series but now that I read your review I want to try Illusions and Destined. Absolutely enchanting review!
ReplyDeleteI've only read the first book in this series, and I wasn't too big of a fan. I'm glad the series just gets better and better! :D I remember that I liked Tamani a lot, too, and that I never quite fell for David. Wonderful review, Celine! <3 :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the previous books in the series yet, but after your review I think I may need to rectify this! I love me some fairies, but it's been FAR too long since I've read one. So happy that Destined was a stunning conclusion to the series. Awesome review, Celine!
